i just looked at 6 of mine and they all have the repunched R and N as shown above , I think I have a couple more but not sure where they are at the moment

I guess that proves (kinda), that there was only a single 1876 die that was used for the 1884 Obv 1's. I just looked at my 10 and they are all like you guy's ones with the R' & N.
