909 The pics are fine, the coin is just not a doubled die. If you want to see what a real doubled die looks like take a look at my avatar (the 1982 DDR). If you compare you will see that the doubling on yours looks flat or shelflike and there is no notches or seperation at the points. Richard

First pic, the "N" in the upper left corner appears to almost have features of a DDO in the upper serifs. However, it could easily be a repunched letter since I don't see a similar offset elsewhere; knowledge of the particular coin is important here. While this doesn't pertain to your LMC, here's a DDO that shows a very consistent offset--which is more typical of doubled dies. That said, I always want to be corrected by the experts--and learn something. 1887 IHC Snow-1 DDO:

It is Machine Doubling Damage on the 1986 cent despite what it says on the slab. Thanks, Bill

What Mike Diamond said. Look at how flat the second image is. A true sign of Machine Doubling. No added value.

Saying Trugrade is questionable is being very nice. The 1986 cent is definite Machine Doubling, no value. The other coin probably has repunched devices, but I would have to know more about what it is before judging with certainty.
