Well it turns out I am now the proud owner of a very "Herculean" looking Septimius Severus
It was actually easy even for me to find a match
Well sort of a match
I located an auction listing for a very similar coin to mine
(99% similar)

34mm 20.45 grams

Ionia Smyrna Septimius Severus 193-211 Medallion 193-211 Ć 36mm 25.32g
Obv. Laureate draped and cuirassed bust right
Rev. Cybele turreted seated left holding patera and sceptre, resting left arm on tympanum.
In front, lion left
SNG Cop. -. SNG von Aulock -. BMC 367
A-Question-Of-Proper-Description-And-Attribution
The issue as I see it is the identification of the "patera"
The coin appears to have been smoothed so maybe some detail was lost
A-Question-Of-Proper-Description-And-Attribution
Whatever Madame Cybele is holding it is certainly not a patera !
Now before I even deciphered the CMYPN I had noticed ..... two figures standing ?
Mine also seems to indicate CMYPNA with the additional A

So either I have the wrong attribution (quite likely!)
Or the BMC description is incorrect ?

Appears to be, yes. Unless it might be the columns of a small temple. As far as I know neither is an attribute of Cybele - and this does indeed seem to be Cybele. Perhaps a syncretized version of her - with Roma or Smyrna? (Seems doubtful, I know)

To quote Roy Orbison, she's a mystery to me.

Keep us updated if you find a match for whatever she's holding.
