Greetings!

I purchased a 5oz 2020 Maple Leaves in Motion coin from the Mint. Really like it!

However, I noticed a small crack in the capsule on the obverse.

Looking for advice about how to proceed.

Will it make any difference in terms of degrading the coin?

Should I try to exchange it?

Will the Mint send me another capsule?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Call the Mint....

They should replace it. I had the same issue once before and it was not a problem.

I've had my rep send me new capsules for ones that have cracked. He's never charged for them, and to swap the coin is an easy process.

Easy it better to return/exchange the coin or replace the capsule yourself? The reason for asking is because I've encountered coins with capsules that easily pop open when you handle the coin.

What do folks recommend?

Since it's listed (as of today) as sold out - I think your options are limited. Give your rep a call. You're taking a chance by returning it that you get someone else's returned coin. On the other hand, as I mentioned, I'll bet they'd be happy to send you a capsule.
