It is showing damaged punch distortion. Keep in mind these mintmarks are added after the die was hardened. So the punches get damaged the more dies that the puncheon was used on:

This is not a die issue, but a mintmark punch issue. That is what you are seeing on the fields in the loops of the mintmark.

Way good at this @coop Thanks for these informatives and helping the newbies. I feel I am getting better at looking for differences. These devices are quite "fatter" if you will. But just large dates that year?

1. Sometimes coin are squeezed and the devices will get wider looking. They didn't look that way before they were altered. 2. Sometimes grease will be in the upper part of the devices and it prevents the devices from being as tall as normal. So they look wider at the base (because they normally are tapered at the tops, so the coins will fall of the dies after the strike) this will make the devices not as tall as normal when the tops are not allowed to form. 3. Also devices can look wider because the dies devices are wider because they are doubled dies.
So which coins will be heavier?
1. The squeezed/flattened devices?
2. Struck Through Grease examples?
3. With the doubled die devices?
Answer hidden between the line below:
They are all the same weight. The planchet goes in X=weight, comes out X=weight. Nothing changes.
Highlight the line above to see the answer.

Cool @Coop with fun stuff like this..Thx as usual. But I could not get to the answer. I wanted to guess the doubled die coin as doubled the amount of die covering wider devices?

Just slide your cursor over the area where there is no line visible and high light that area and the answer will appear.

I learned that finger on screen (via cell phone) does not work that way. Will try via my laptop now.

Ahhh...my other feeling (was choice b) "trick Q". I got it. Thanks.
