John Wexler recently confirmed four new Lincoln Cent doubled ear DDOs that I found 1-2 years ago. I wanted to share my pic of 1984 WDDO-011 (Which will be featured in Coin World in July) as I did not post it when it was found. Also, I figured I'd put all the pics in the same place so they may be easier for others to find in the future. Hopefully you guys keep an eye out for these, I'd love to see more examples. Mine aren't in the best shape, the 1995 has a lot of corrosion on the obverse. 1984 1c WDDO-011: 1984 1c WDDO-012: Original Post: http://goccf.com/t/321764 1995 1c WDDO-005: Original Post: http://goccf.com/t/345750 2000-D 1c WDDO-001: Original Post: http://goccf.com/t/328164 Wexler's Email: If anyone wants more photos I'll gladly take more once I get them back from Wexler.

I'll be keeping an eye out! Any of these going to ANACS as Mr. Wexler mentioned?

Quote: Any of these going to ANACS as Mr. Wexler mentioned? I'm considering it, but it won't be anytime soon, if ever. I might send them to Wiles to see if he would list them first. I don't know why but I do think it would super satisfying to see DDO-001 WDDO-001 First Reported on a slab.

That would be nice. The DDO-001 label would be a plus!

This is all very good news. Recognizing some of these doubled ears is a good thing, and getting them listed will help everyone figure out what's what and how best to tell them from Machine Doubling in that area which looks somewhat similar. Getting a DDO-001 "first reported" on an ANACS slab certainly is worth doing. That said, for my 2018-D DDO-001 what they actually put on the slab was "VarietyVista Plate Coin" which is less satisfying. I took a shot at another DDO-001 and submitted a 1933-D 1DO-001 to Wiles to try and get him to list it as there is no VArietyVista DDO for that year, but he said it wasn't strong enough. Anyway, very hard to get a new DDO-001 so worth giving it a shot. Huge congrats on a great set of coins well-recognized.

Just got a few coins back from Wiles! 1984 WDDO-011 will also be listed as DDO-008 (8-O-IV) 1995 WDDO-005 will also be listed as DDO-003 (3-O-IV) 2000-D WDDO-001 is "Not a DDO. Overlays suggest that the 'secondary image' is within the lobe design. I suspect it as an incidental hit. I would need a second specimen to confirm it is a DDO, even then I would probably consider it too minor to list." -James Wiles

I'm just like someone else I know who said, Wiles is making a pretty good living off of telling people this is too minor to list.

It really does seem like quite a lot of the coins that come back from Wiles nowadays are all "too minor". It's as shame that some real nice doubled dies are left out for this reason. Great news hearing about all these listings!
