Does the Variety for the 1982 Kennedy have to be missing both the F&G or just the F. I have read both on different websites? Thank you for your help!

So your coin is missing the "F" for Frank. The "G" is for Gasparo.
This error can occur overtime and also by staff over polishing the die.
Good find.

Could be a minor grease-fill issue as well.

Obverse on the date area it appears as damage from either coin counting machine/vending machine or damage from a coin wrapper sealer. Note the coin scratch is parallel to the rim, so it was done by a machine of some type.

Coop are you sayings since there is a ring on the obverse that the no F on the reverse is done by a machine?

No, coop is just describing the reason there is a ring on the obverse. Coinfrog described the reason for no F perfectly.
