Hey there! I'm brand new to this forum and coin collecting in general. I have come across this quarter that is very dirty, which is obstructing my view of the full possible error. However, some discoloration is clear in the top left corner of the obverse. Does anyone know what kind of error this is, if any?
That's not an error coin. Your coin is showing Environmental Damage and some type of dried up residue. Try picking it off with a toothpick and see if it will come off.
Thanks for responding! Here is the coin after I've chipped off that dirt block. There's discoloration, but you think that's just environmental damage right?
