It does not matter if you like Paypal or not but they have just made life easier for financial transactions in Australia for those having Australian bank accounts.

(For those outside Australia that do not know what a BSB # is, this post is not for you)

Beginning Feb 2 Australia time Paypal australia will exist and this means that funds can be transfered into and out of banks in Australia-
this was not possible in the past.
Here is the email I received from Paypal
********************************************
We are pleased to confirm that as of 2 February 2006, PayPal Australia Pty Limited is now providing the PayPal Service to you.

You do not need to take any action, however we do recommend that you review the updated and localised user agreement and privacy policy at a time convenient to you.

Tip of the day:

Fund PayPal with your bank account! PayPal now offers the convenience of funding your PayPal account with your nominated bank account or credit card.

To add your bank account to your PayPal account, log in to your PayPal account and go to your Profile, then click the Bank Accounts link under the Financial Information column.

Sincerely,

PayPal

According to the rest of the information when I went to my Australian Paypal account
Since Paypal Australia is seperated legally from paypal Australia
If you are registered on Paypal Australia, you will be able to have a confirmed address

I don't know if it will work for me because I believe - I don't know yet but believe you also have to have a credit card with an Australian addy.
I may use family addy for confirmed addy

will know in about 2-3 days

Oh great! Now I had just as well ask for direct deposit to all Australian sellers!!! Actually I am glad to see Australia add PayPal as, like it or not, it can't get any easier to make a payment and it seems like I tend to send a lot of extra funds WAY DONW there this past few months. Perhaps this will open the doors for someone to compete with Downies? I like Downies and appreciate their very good service but sometimes wonder about prices. Hopefully this will be a real good opportunity.
