First time poster.... I have just come across a 1998 $2 Australian coin that looks different. (To me anyhow).

Was hoping to get a little feedback please.

Your photo needs to be clearer so that more detail can be seen as the Southern Cross is just a blur ... and as Coinfrog pointed out, showing both sides is always helpful.

Probably the most important characteristic of pictures in deciding if a coin is fake or not, is that they are in sharp focus on the screen. Very minor differences in design (or not) relative to genuine are important.

What is the exact weight of the coin?

Even with the poor picture,
Thr fact that it may be a counterfeit (as opposed to fake), is quite plausible.
A couple of years ago Great Britain was flooded with counterfeit aluminium bronze One Pound coins.

Very unlikely that its fake/counterfeit, its definitely the REAL DEAL.
