It is a petite head cent to the best of my knowledge.

@thatcoindude, firstly, Coronet, not coroner. Secondly petite head is a subtype of this series and are popular with collectors. As rude as it may sound, it would be best to study a topic before posting illfounded responses that may result in a negative effect for another user.

Thanks for your clarification. This brings me to my next question. The hole in the Dansco says "1839 Petite Head". I have heard this described as "1839 head of 1840", "1839 N-8", "1839 Braided hair". Before I attempt to fill the hole, I want to know I am correct on the type. What is your opinion? Thanks for your response. I'm attempting to educate myself, but what I'm finding is just confusing me more.

I was strictly looking for the Newcomb 8 variety which has the braided hair and thought that was "Petite". Any additional help would be appreciated. The is my last hole to fill except for the big five on the first page (1793 3 varieties, 1799, and 1804.
