Hi all,

Maybe quick question here: does anybody know when PCGS and NGC began marking FBL on Franklin halves?

I have an older PCGS slab that looks to be FBL but I don't know a enough about FBL to be sure. Either they didn't mark it at that time or I am just wrong. It appears to be a PCGS holder gen 2.2, so 1989-90.

Thanks for any thoughts,
N

I know it was Tomaska that came up with the designation in one of his books and they adopted it. But when I am not sure.

That might help. That books seems to have first been published in 1997. If that's the case, the answer to my question is "no."

Thanks for the help, and I'll see what other info we get.

Then I would say send it back in for reholdering with that designation. Not sure, but I think you can have them check and if they wont give it then they will just leave it be.
