Hello!

Thank you in advance for any help. Found this silver coin/token with a metal detector in Estonia, but that doesn't give much info as it could be from anywhere in Europe.

The diameter is about 1,5cm, cannot tell you the exact weight, rather that it is very light and thin.

@heseli, first welcome to CCF. Second that is a pretty cool find indeed. It looks to me like a 13th Century silver Pfennig from the German Bishopric of Münster.

I'm planning to move this thread over the ancients and medievals section of CCF and get this in front of the right eyes to help you more. If I have time, I can also look in my Ilisch reference to see if I can get you an exact attribution.

Yep that is the one Bob. The crosses on the two towers on either side of the city wall gate seem to be diagnostic for Ludolf. Unfortunately without a weight and more of the inscription visible, it is a little tough to nail down an exact attribution. The only characters that I can make out are the letters "NE" on the first pic from about 3 to 4 o'clock (part of the inscription MONESTERIENS). These are present on the first three of the four types. Additionally, it looks like the door of the gate is blank. Since type 2 has a rosette and type 3 has a letter V on the door, I'm quite confident that this is a Ilisch IX 1.

Wow! Thank you so much for the investigation. I would have never been able to figure it out like that!
For us, it's a cool find from our countryside land. We find cool coins from different eras from time to time, but these are usually quite recognisable. Not this one. So thank you all for helping me out!
