1999 PA Quarter Half Clad Front

This is a 1999 PA state coin. Features a half copper front side. Edge shows that this half of the coin is thinner with a noticeable shelf on the edge. The back side has a faint PE for PENNSYLVANIA and the bottom edge of the state is a faint to non existent. Received this coin as change many years ago and set it aside, only to recently come across it again.

That one is real, partial missing clad layer. More than 99% of the time they are just environmental damage, but yours is the actual error.

This looks to be a genuine partial missing clad layer on obverse. Incredible find! More often we find examples like these as just environmental damage on the forum, but yours looks to be genuine. Great find!

Looks like the cladding fell off before the strike. If it came off after the strike then the ghost image would we weaker:
