Sounds like a damaged coin. If so, it is worth face value. Just like the question you ask before you decide to go on a blind date: "Got a picture?

Maybe edge shots would be better. But if the zinc is exposed, It sounds like PSD. It maybe have been damaged by a counting machine? Even a partial collar would not remove the plating.

Possibly struck With a partial collar? If it could fit inside of a Cent roll, then it can't be a broadstrike. That would cause the coin to grow larger.

I found 5 of these coins in the box .Before unwrapping coins the coin in question could be seen bulging through the paper. There was also 8 coins in box that had been struck thru debris. What it looks like to me is coin was struck then partially ejected and struck again, only on rim. Look at reverse full image, you can see where metal is folded up. Also on rim it is clean cut from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock, where it looks like its been pinched, not scratched.

This is almost certainly a partial collar error, notice the "railroad rim" like edge of the coin, that is the hallmark of a partial collar error. This is a rather large one, most of the ones that escape the mint these days are relatively minor. For common Lincoln Cent dates, these have been going for $5 to $10 on ebay over the past few months. As I see no 2020 examples sold or listed for sale, this one would likely go for more than that if you were to put up for auction now. If more examples hit the market, expect the price to fall back down to the $5 to $10 range eventually. Good find! Definitely worth keeping!
