Variety Vista lists no doubled dies for 1954-P, but there are 2 unknowns (no photos or descriptions) on Wexler's site and three minor ones listed on Coppercoins. I figured I'd do some close peering and see if I could pick up something in a roll of 1954 coins, and well, I did.

This is pretty minor, but looking at the diagonal bar of the secondary 4 visible inside the closed section of the 4 does show that it has a fairly wide spread. And it can be seen, although lightly, in several places.

Not sure if it's strong enough for a Variety Vista listing, but certainly some minor doubled die. Quite similar to, although the crossbar doubling looks a bit different and the die markers don't match, 1954-1DO-002.

Did you check if the 'double die isn't just die wear

That diagonal bar inside the 4 is very crisp (it doesn't show up well with the lighting needed to show the other parts). I would not expect that with die wear.

The 4 looks crisp to me as well.

I think it is worthy of listing in VV.

Nice one TB! What class is this? It's kinda unusual so I'm not sure.

Very cool, probably near impossible to spot with any circulation grime on it.

Thanks for the comments!

Grapes, it's tough for me to say exactly, but likely it is a class VIII. The spread is toward the center, so most likely a class II or VIII, but without any other devices near it around the rim it would be hard to say if it's a class II or not. Probably anything like this would just default into class VIII, and honestly I think a class II would not have such distinct separation.
