Greetings All,
I wanted to check in regarding my 1899 Silver Certificate.

After adding the photo of the back of the certificate, does anyone have any ideas as to what exactly I have?

Thank you all again, for the help you've provided.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

Sincerely,
Cameron Beach

Acidic1,
I wanted to see if you had any further thoughts regarding the 1899 bill now that I've posted the reverse of said silver certificate?
If you need detailed photographs please email me at <<<Email address removed. Cybrerbots love these little links in posts. please use the forum email system>>>.
Before I list or trade this collectible I want to find out exactly what it is and potential value.
Thank you again for your time.
How many years have you been collecting?
Sincerely,
Cameron Beach

Cam,
I haven't been on notes for very long but I think If I was far off...I would have heard about it by now. There are some REAL smart people on this forum and If any disagreed, Yeah, I would have gotten an ear full by now. I must stick with my original assessment.

P.S. I saw your web site and you look like you could beat me up. I wouldn't lie to ya!.

If I can remember, which is rare, I will peruse my library tonight and see what I can find. At a minimum I can corroborate what acidic has already helped you with.

Oh, and where are my manners, WELCOME!!

Greetings,
Thank you for the wonderful welcome.
It looks like you are a fellow Penn State fan.
Good ole Joe Paterno is a friend of my step-dad.
George Welsh(UVA) is of course a long time buddy of Joe and a life long friend of myself.
In turn,Saturdays have always been action packed days for me.
I can't thank you and the other forum members enough for the kindess and help you've offered.
I am thinking of getting the 1899 graded by either PMG or PCGS.
Would you think this would be worth it?
Have a terrific weekend.
Sincerely,
Cameron

Hey Cam...CGA seems to be the TPG of choice for notes. Yes, this would be a good candidate for grading. I'm not sure of the prices but I suspect it would be around $20 to $30 depending on the TPG you choose.

A And Tights,
Well gosh, I feel a bit the unintelligent one.
I double checked the $1 bills.
I saw Washington on them (these are not the 1899 ones) and in turn thought..
standard one dollar bills.
In printing out the scans to take to a antique store in Marietta,Georgia I noticed they were all:
ONE SILVER DOLLAR ($1 BILLS).
The best of the lot is a K Series of '1928A'.
Any thoughts?

I'd be interested in what the antique dealer says. Tell him right away that you are not interested in selling. That way he won't tell you what he would buy them from you for. Also, spending a few bucks in his store might help grease the wheels for a decent appraisal.

Greetings All,
Hope the week is going well.
Well here we are, another election day.
Ironically tights24, I have an appointment with at reputable (at least for Atlanta)
collector/dealer. All of the dealers were away for the weekend in TN for a big collector's show.
I am going to try and acquire a hard plastic case for the 1899 and get the other bills looked at as well.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
P.S. for the coin collectors out there, I may have some neat pictures for you in January or February.

Uh Oh!
Apparently the Dealer saw my email images from over the weekend when he returned to his shop this a.m.
The appointment is for 1pm.
He, before I've even stepped foot in the door, has started placing offers via email and phone.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a 'actual' value on it now.
We'll see...I'll let you all know what he says when I return.

Greetings All,
Well the expert gave my 1899 the once over.
You were right as to the i.d. of the bill Acid.
When I shined a flashlight through it before the appointment I could have sworn I had seen at least three folds.
When Gary first reviewed the bill he only could find one fold.
However upon further inspection there are indeed 3 folds
taking the Grade from AU to XF.
He reviewed the current prices and stated the 'Dealer Price' was $195.
I did pick up sleeves for all of the bills as well.
Any thoughts as to what a Retail Value would be for this bill?
-----------------
He looked over the 1934A Silver $1 Bill as well.
It is a 'Funny Back' with a VF Grade.
In looking up the value the cost he quoted $23 Dealer Cost.
Also want to check in with the forum as to what the suggested Listing Cost should be should I put it up for auction?
-----------------
Hope the week is going well for everyone.

A,
Good to hear from you.
One of the facinating things to see were all the gold krugerands(mispell?).
Hadn't ever seen those before in person.
Also saw some great Gold $1 Bills.
----------
He did look over the $10 1934A.
I was surprised that it received such a good grade though of Fine' , as I thought it was in a lesser condition.
He stated that the dealer cost would be approximately $18.
I'm actually heading back over there today to purchase a Va.bicentennial silver coin for my father.
Sincerely,
Cameron

Ahh!, 1936 commem. Nice coin...expensive coin. Ship on the obverse and the royal mace on the reverse. When you get it, take a few pictures. I'd love to see it.
