Hi Community, I've been a good boy by self distancing and isolating myself and staying healthy in my home.
I've been spending time with my collection..cataloguing and inventory etc.
I have a couple coin storage booklets my mo in law gave me for Christmas stocking stuffers a couple of years ago; they're the generic Asia produced plastic ten pages that hold about 150 coins. When I got them I thought these would be great to hold my loose world coins and other pieces I did want to 2x2.
I've been looking for supplies etc on Amazon lately also and have noticed these booklets are made of pvc! So, now I have a few hundred coins to "wash" in acetone because pvc is a known no-no when it comes to coins that contain reactive metals like copper.
I have the time so it doesn't bother me too much to fix this problem.
Heres one question, are these booklets still something I can use?
I have dozens of aluminum world coins, can they be safely stored in them?
Should I just ditch them and move on to something better and put them behind me?
I have a few Uni-safe booklets that the coins can find a home in from now on, hopefully, this will be their final home for now.
I appreciate your replies..thanks

There are many options, especially for 2x2s for "random" coins. https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/ar...roducts.html Thats a good place to start, I store all my "random" coins in paper sized 2x2s in a non-pvc sheet in a standard three-ring binder. It works well, you can store as many coins of any size youd like and you can organize them however you may please. There are also non-pvc sheets for banknotes as well! Happy collecting and good luck!

Just dump those old ones. Not much you can do with them.

Uni-safe is popular in Canada but I'm not convinced they are safe for long term storage.
I took my coins out of those and put them into 2x2 or the smaller 1.5x1.5 flips.
I use the smell test and if it smells like a shower curtain I don't use it.
I didn't toss out the Uni-safe but I upgraded to Dansco, Whitman or Library of coins albums with slides.
