It's called a fin, is the width of the collar greater there than on the rest?

to the CCF!

The coin show a slight MAD or Misaligned Die strike. The obverse hammer die in this case was slightly moved towards the K:3 position. That caused the doubled rim at the K:9 position.

Just a tilted die issue. I feel this is caused by the same machine event that causes Machine Doubling. Still waiting on someone to find this on a OBW roll of on new coins. Then it will help us see that some coins may have Machine Doubling and others with a tilted die issue. I'm hoping then we will see different areas affected by the tilted die issue. When this is found, then it will help prove/disprove my theory. In order to disprove my theory, the tilted die would be exact on all examples found. So keep an eye out for this on you new coin roll finds.
