First of all, apologies for the quality of these photos. I've really tried to do everything right, but my sense is these are poor quality and possibly incorrect size and such.

I believe this is a DDO 1969 Lincoln Cent. However, I see several "T"s on it:
1) T before the T in TRUST
2) T before the W in WE
3) 2Ts to the right of Lincoln's eye/nose area
4) 1 possible T to the left, behind his head, in the eye/nose area

Also, the ST in Trust is missing, as well as the 9 in the date (although you can see a faint 9).

There seems to be other writing or shadows of several(?) stampings.

Your thoughts and comments please.

In addition, regarding photos: I've downloaded Infranview, but don't know which "size" to choose to get '300K for size'. Also, which pixels are the "800 pixels on the longest side"?

Any help/hints/how-to's on photos would be greatly appreciated.

Lee

Just a normal circulated cent. The S T 9 are a result of a slight Grease Filled Die, very common. As far as the Ts if you look long enough you can see anything you want to see on a coin, it's just not there. there is a name for it, just can't remember it right now, someone will be along shortly with the name.

Thanks for your help, Cujohn. Do you think it's a DDO?

It's called Pareidolia. It's when you see stuff that isn't actually there. Your coin is a very minor Struck Through Grease error. A spender in my opinion. https://www.error-ref.com/struck-th...-grease-oil/

Many thanks for your help Errers and Varietys. I've posted just two times and have already learned several new elements about proper identification of coin errors.

Thanks also for the additional sites about coin deterioration and errors. I will investigate these articles more fully as time allows.

This is such a wonderful site and folks are so helpful -- obviously very dedicated to the correct identification of coins -- I consider myself lucky to have found it.

Thank you, John1, for your answer regarding DDO. When you have a moment, would you tell me why you say it isn't? Is there a particular page on CCF's site that could help me get a better idea of exactly what makes a coin DDO vs. not DDO? (I have a couple of coin books, but I can't seem to make a lot of sense from their identifications of what makes a coin DDO.)

My photos weren't great (I purchased a WiFi USB Digital Microscope last week) but I'm going to re-do the photo for a better view of this penny. Also, I like Infranview, but am having a devil of a time getting my photos correct before posting. I'm sure they'll improve over time.

Again, thanks for your help in this matter.

I am not the one to go into detail, that would be coop. I just know it is not DDO from decades of being in the hobby.
