1999-P Delaware Spitting Horse?

Yes, but it's not really worth setting aside minor die breaks like this, imo. When I started hunting errors and varieties about a year ago, I set aside every die chip and crack I found, and I realized pretty fast they just aren't very rare. This one gained some attention because it's in a place that made for a good name, but, fundamentally, it's just a minor die crack. On pennies, go ahead and set them aside, but if you set aside that many quarters, the dollars start piling up quick. Not saying you shouldn't keep one for your collection, but I wouldn't bother saving every one you find.

LOL! The snot shooter. That means mine is a 1/1 right worth millions. I wish but it was still nice after looking through so many coins to at least see something different. Thanks fellas for your input and I will pay much more attention to the pennies for the die cracks then. I have so many pennies to look through it is kind of overwhelming I haven't even started those yet. Saving the best for last.

Wow. I did not know that there were variations to the "spitting horse".

Mine comes from the horse's mouth to the left tip of the "A" and down through the "R".

Others, as "Daves Errors" states, go to the tip of the "E".

Another one bisects the "C" (Can we call this one the "Moses coin?"

Yet another goes to the right tip of the "A".

Some breaks go all the way to the rim, some do not.

All this makes me wonder why are there so many die breaks in this area of the Delaware dies.

They are die events. Just a face value coins. They were hyped up during the State Quarter frenzy/ People sold them for a premium. But today they are just die scratches, or die cracks. Just a die event. If you paid a premium for them, they are just face value coins now.

Sure, Coop. And I would not buy one, but it would be neat to have one of each - just as conversation pieces.
