Good afternoon. It seems there's a lot going on with this coin that I can see and I'm hoping to show in my images what I am looking at from what the title of this topic states. The weight is 3.18 grams..

Variety vista has no listings for any OMM, DDO, or DDR for this date, and it just looks like a the coin took a ding to the mint mark to me. Hard to see the doubling you're trying to point out, but the stuff on the date and liberty looks like Machine Doubling to me. Highly recommend using either Variety Vista or Wexler's Die varieties for reference when hunting for die varieties. It will save a lot of time staring at coins for which no doubled dies are known to exist (and if none are documented for any coin this old, they almost certainly either do no exist, or are so esoteric and minor you'd need to be a PhD-level coin expert to identify them).

I agree and I did check into Wexler's and variety Vista. I agree also how old this coin is for issues to pop up after all this time. But I can't rule out what I'm trying to show, as in the split in the talk of the 9. The complete separation in LIBERTY. Doubling with the logos/motto. And a distinct "S" underlying the D mintmark. I am going to work on getting a set up to where I can get these images to show so I can present what I'm actually seeing to you. Right now you can only go with what I am showing you and obviously it's not visible to you so I totally understand. I will repost in a few hours and see if I can't bring these images out. Thanks...

I'm no expert when it comes to error coins, but that looks very interesting to me. Can you get closer in with a usb micro or jeweler's loop used with cell camera? That would be an exciting one to start looking for if it is what it looks like and not a result of MD.

I'm specifically talking about the action on Liberty more than anything else by the way. The D over s seems a bit of a stretch and the date could be result of circulation damage as could the rest of it. From a bird's-eye view though, the incused areas specifically the B in Liberty, look very small suggesting possible extra thickness. I'm anxious to see it up close.

Looks like push doubling. ( Machine Doubling that was pushed outside the normal devices. Because it is flat, it reflects like and creates glare)

CouchDiver1978 I will do that. Coin in hand it's doubling. No glare. The "S" is there as well and I will do what I can to bring it to view for you. It's an interesting coin to say the least.

But Machine Doubling flattens the devices. The flat look when the light hits it creates glare. That is what you are seeing and the light is making it glare. With the inverting the colors, it shows what is going on there.

I see what you are talking about Coop. I've noticed this type of thing on several 1987 LMC's as well, with the flattening of MD afflicted devices on the date. Also, if this date was doubled, the horizontal top bars of the sevens should be the same length right?...unless we're talking a class III or something.

Maybe some small degree of over polishing on the die, in addition to the aforementioned, to account for the exaggerated look to devices on TRUST? Just a thought...
