1964 Jefferson D Over D Nickel - Coin Community Forum

Keyzpoppazack New Member United States 21 Posts	Posted 04/04/2020 03:50 am Hey there. I just started collecting coins a couple days ago when I found a bunch of pennies in the basement of my house. Since then I look at all coins and found a 1964 D over D Jefferson nickel. Does the nickel come with only one D or are they all D over D if the D is in the right spot? I won't have a microscope til tomorrow but I will post pics. Can you tell me what you think it would be graded? * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

With the coin in hand, is one of the serifs split? Where do you see evidence of the remnant first punch? I'd encourage you to look at the varietyvista link I posted upthread a little ways to see what known RPMs for this date/mintmark look like.
