This is one of my stellar buys. Appears environmentally damaged and soaked in baking soda/vinegar then scrubbed with a rifle bore cleaner. But have question about the obverse, is this one of the DDO's for 1870? Unable to match it but looks kinda fat for Longacre doubling. The date, unable to right it sorry.

Sharper pics would help, but that looks like characteristic Longacre shelf doubling.

Here's a detail of Longacre Doubling on a 1865 III¢ piece. It shows really well on this coin.

Thanks folks, extra eyes are always nice sorting "those maybes". Figures in why I couldn't match it.

Looking at the PCGS RB example on CoinFacts and they sure show similarities especially STATES OF AMERICA. Bear in mind though I have stared at it long enough were it might be tricking my mind.

Well it's not FS-101 because FS-101 has a wide spread on LIBERTY where you can see the TY of LIBERTY Doubled to the NW:

We can also rule out FS-102 since there is no MPD:

So even if there was a DDO, it does not look to be CPG listed-but from here, it looks like longacre doubling to me. Nice coin never the less.

Yes, had to put it away for a few hours was suffering from imaginary images. I have many Longacre doubled cents, this ones just more radical. I was poping all my Indians out of airtights deciding which ones for placement in a new Capital 60 coin holder then my ADD went wild on this one. I absolutely loathe this coin and keep it as lesson on what not to buy on any Indian cent. $150.00 yites! Have come a ways since buying this one. Thanks for gentle reality check all.
