I am new to coin forums and consider myself a 50 year rookie collector. I started my first collection (pennies) in 1970, at 10yrs old, with my brother and father. Much of the collection came from metal detecting around civil war battle grounds, beaches and under water. My second collection was to obtain a coin from every country. So, for the last 29yrs I have traveled the world with the military, and have collected paper and coins from many far away places. Recently, I inherited both my brother and father's collections. Looking to learn as much as I can before it's time to pass them on. Thanks, Steve

Thanks for the welcomes. I am really finding out there is a lot more to coins than 50 yrs ago when I started out, and the DDO 1955 was the only thing we looked for as kids.
