How can you tell which die is which on the 1936 DDO's 1-3? Want to know the clue? On the DDO-001, it is the strongest spread
DDO for that year.
But the 002 looks similar? How can I tell them apart? The clue is the 002 has a broken hub on the 'R' on Liberty:

Note the dates look a bit alike, but the broken hub alters the normal shape of the 'R'. Can you see it now.
But what about the DDO-003, how is it different?Note the date area is not affected as the rest of the other doubled dies but note that the same damaged hub create die 003:
Then why is it called a doubled die, if the date is not affected? Well other areas are affected similar to the 001 and 002:

Not all areas have to have doubling to be a doubled die. So what makes them different, is why they are listed with different numbers. The dies are showing different hub doubling. Hope this helps. Here are the full doubling images for each die:
