It has really a nice blue/red toning wich is hard to capture on photo. Hope photos are good enough for you to give it a grade

As you can see the obverse has some issuses that distracts when looking on the coin straight from above.

If matthewvincent stop by this thread I want to give him credit for his LEGO-camerastation. I had to make one myself

If those marks are on the coin, I would have to say MS details (scratched).

Tack så mycket denkan!

Necessity is the mother of invention and I needed something to hold my phone steady. It works well enough for my needs.

I want to cry whenever I see a high-grade coin that is marred in some way. Your dime is very well struck.
It looks as though it is in a TPG slab so please tell us eventually what the "Official" grade is.

The scratches are a shame...

Rest in Peace

The coin is too gorgeous of a strike to warrant a details grade . MS-63+ or better in my opinion .

Thank you all for your opinion!

PCGS graded this one PF63.

From what I can understand from Q. David Bowers book on Barber coins, slide marks from National albums are common but do not make it a detail coin. However A coin with slide marks should not grade higher than PF64.

Some of the lines on Libertys face are infact raised and as understand 1901-1904 they used to polish the face in the die. So this coin is 2 years late based in the fact above but it sounds reasonable.

I remeber reading something about sandpolishing when searching on the web. But I don't know if thats relevant on this coin?

The marks do distract when looking in the coin straight from above but when tilting it go bring forward the toning and mirrorfields it is fantastic IMO
