I have a couple questions about mechanical. I (think) I know how it happens but like on this coin 19 extreme but 42 not so. How does it happen to two numbers and the mint. I also have a problem with all S mint marks. (If) this one wasn't mechanical would where arrow is pointing would that be considered RPM? Thank you much for more knowledge

The same process that alters normal coin strikes with Machine Doubling, also can happen on variety coins as well. Most collectors don't want both on their coins as it is a distraction. But the event can happen on both types of dies. Altering coins from normal and varieties including RPMs as well. (I missed the split lower serif, because of the distraction of the Machine Doubling.

Yep. Mechanical Doubling/ Strike Doubling. Like coop said, not a variety but its a $20 ebay coin any day of the week. Can state it as an MD coin and they still buy them up. They pay much higher for these than a real doubled die. doesn't seem to be ending soon
