Not sure what it is under the bottom of the D it looks like a Q because there's a little kicker down at the bottom of the D the S E corner.

I agree, just zinc rot corrosion eating away at the zinc core and copper plating. It's a spender. PSD.

It's just a shadow the coin is perfectly colored there is no rot there at all.
