I've always liked this coin. The edge made contact with another cent or maybe a part of the press as it expanded without the limits of the retaining collar. The fields show lots of ghosting of the devices in the copper layer, which has no splits and still shows lots of mint luster.

The reverse of the coin is slightly dished indicating that the reverse die was most likely the hammer die.

It looks like a clip, but I feel the bending of the rim makes it appear this way.

It's another coin from a LCS back in Texas. It's 23.759mm at its widest point so it fits quite nicely in a quarter dollar 2X2. I bought this in 2001 for $22 (I think). This coin came from one of the coin wrapping services (Brinks, Wells Fargo, Bank, Etc.) but I don't know which one. Once or twice each year the owner of the coin shop would buy error coins from a guy that worked at one of the above. He would bring in a plastic bucket full of major errors pulled from mint bags. He wouldn't tell them his name and wanted to be paid in cash. He stopped showing up with the coins after a few years. I really hope he just moved to a new job and didn't get caught because I bought hundreds of the coins he "found."
