I am trying to sell some of my silver bullion on ebay. Specifically, I have a few 1 oz maple leafs and 2 oz RCMP coins. The main challenge is that I will be entering ebay as a new seller. I have been reading other "new to ebay posts," but still have a few questions of my own.

Mainly, I am concerned with scammers. I read this recent thread called "Canadian ebay Buyer Scamming Dealers." I gather that it will be best to use registered mail. For the time being, as a safeguard, I will also hold off on selling items with low profit margins. But then, I thought, if some buyers are scamming by saying that their coins did not arrive, they might even go as far as saying that the package they received is empty. Am I worrying too much here? Are there safeguards against such scenario (especially for a new seller)?

Another unrelated question. ebay allows I think 50 free listings every month. Let's say that I have a product listed at a quantity of 50. This is unlikely to happen, but further suppose that I sell all 50. At that point, do I still have 49 listings left for the month, or none?

Also, I would greatly appreciate any general advice you might have for a new seller like me, with virtually no feedback score yet.

Why not try a For Sale ad at CCF first?

I totally forgot that selling on CCF was an option! I just read the rules and it appears that I do qualify. I will do a bit more research before going there. Thanks for the input!

Unfortunately there have been case of scammers saying that the package was empty. I do not think that there is a foolproof method to avoid scammers but I think that selling here in CCF is the closest you can get. Surely somebody will want your bullion.

CCF is good, and so is ebay. Rarely have a problem with either.
