One of the hardest varieties for me to identify. I can never tell if it's just a poor strike, glare, split plate doubling, etc, or actually the reverse of 89 variety.

Not sure why, but no matter how hard I stare, it looks like I'm seeing a hook and a flare on the G. Probably just been staring at it too long...

SamCoin, I have found three 1988 D's with the RDV-006. To this day glare still can throw me off. For me, the best two ways to tell is the distance from the memorial and besides the obvious the G on the RDV-006 has a rounder back than the RDV-005 where the back of the G is more straight up and down.
