Hello everyone, found 1941s Wheat penny appears to have a large cent number 3 on reverse, wear of error matches coin. The 3 is raised and doubled,any info would be appreciated *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

 to the CCF! The 3 looks incuse, not raised in the last photo. Could you post full images of both sides?

Looks like a counterstamp to me.

 and I think it's doubled because it was punched twice. I'd like to see if the coin has a corresponding push out on the obverse because JM425 said the 3 was raised.

It is easy to punch a number or a letter on a coin. I got a set of these punches about a year ago for just that purpose.
