How could I stop the toning or corrosion starting at the rims. I dont want to damage the coin or end up with a nice clean coin.

Thanks

eg:
It looks like toning at the rims.
The only way to "stop it" is to use a holder like the chemically inert ones.
And prevent the environment fro entering the area.
However, that looks like the old Wayte Raymond toning, or from an early Whitman album.
And, it looks nice.
Since it is out of the original album, there should be no problem.

Amr,

You have some nice U.S. pieces in your collection.

Off the subject a bit, but I've noticed you do a separate post for each comment and photo. You do know you can put all that into one post? It makes it a bit easier for the reader to follow along. Just a suggestion.

Amr,
That is a real nice addition to your collection
As for the toning. there is no way to absolutely inhibit toning, except to encase in Lucite. The problem is that the silver oxidizes with chemicals in the air - sulfur and to a lesser extent oxygen. Slabs are probably the best. I know you can purchase them - Zohar444 uses them. They look okay - don't know much about them. Ya just have to keep oxidizer away.
Hope this helps some.

I am sorry for the inconvinience, but I thought since I use somewhat large pics, that by this way the thread will open faster than if I placed all of the pics in one post.

No apology necessary. We all just thought you were trying to "up" your post count.

Since the file sizes here are limited to 100k or less, there's no problem loading if they are all in one post.

I past the 50 post so long ago, and I see no benefit of increasing my post number. It wont make a difference 800 posts from 900.

As I said I thought that this would make it easier and faster for members to read the post, because I sometimes get bored waiting for a large pic to open.and I didnt want this to happen with my posts.

I know that, but I dont use the insert image option to place my image because it is restricted to 100K or less, thus the pics are not as clear. I upload my pics to my gallery albums and insert their URL in the post. The image gallery pics are upto 1.2Mb.

Thats why I am afraid that it might take a lot of time to open specially with members who uses dial up as my self
