Your image of the edge is great. It appears to be a type of defective planchet.

It may be part of or remnants of a "Slag inclusion"?

I see damage to the coin. Note the edge shot is showing a collapse. The coin was altered post strike. PSD.

If that's from an original bank roll, I'm in the defective planchet camp. Though if your edge photo shows you sandwiching the coin between fingers, the resulting fingerprints will kill much of any error value.

Could be a Ragged Clipped Planchet error. I am not in the PSD camp. If you can get more pictures that are clearer, that would be great.

I'm leaning towards ragged clip also. The edge just doesn't look the way most damaged edges look. I'd like to see the reverse of the coin.

After comparing pics. I'm with it being a ragged clip. They too have that squished edge look.

I really think this is a small ragged clip. The edge has a similar look to a ragged clip 1958-D Jefferson nickel in my collection.

Here's the edge on my coin.
