I noticed the weird lines. Almost look like fingerprints. Just was wondering what makes those. I haven't noticed it on other non half coins. May be a dumb question but I was just curious.

It's on 4 of the Kennedy half's I have. But not on the other ones. It doesn't come off. I just figured it may be some kind of tooling marks.

Thanks

We had the same question a few days ago. The lines on the neck and just in front of the ear are part of the design, but it does look like fingerprints.

Here's an image of the area in question. I pulled this from PCGS CoinFacts. The two areas circled are not fingerprints, but are actually part of the original design.

The lines show stronger on early strikes from fresh dies and on mint state coins.
