I recently found a James Garfield assassination commemorative coin 1881
On the back the word assassination is missing the first three letters
It says assination
How do I find out the value of this coin
Im not a coin collector. So at a loss where to start

I recall hearing that this particular series of medals was produced in the early- to mid-20th century by Scovill. Here is a link to one with the same misspelling that is up for sale on ebay:
