Hello I have had this coin for some time and wanted expert collectors to look and see if it is worth grading and to who. Thank you very much and look forward in enjoying this site. Bob Edited by mojomanbob54 04/29/2020 11:14 pm

Pretty nice looking coin with lots of detail, I would put it at AU-55, only held back by lack of luster

Nice coin, looks like high AU grade. The natural-looking toning is basically neutral as regards eye appeal. I see what looks like Strike Doubling on the reverse lettering which does not add special value. Retail value is likely north of $300 and certification is worth consideration. I'd go with PCGS if it were my coin.

if this coin was in circulation it was like 5min. AU58 or MS62 I'm leaning MS but the photos are a little too bright and may not be presenting the coin accurately

Very nice coin and definitely worth getting graded and slabbed. Looks AU-58 minimum and possibly MS.

You should definitely grade this Half Dime. It's the small stars version no drapery and has a current price guide at PCGS of $1000.00 in MS-63, and $1750.00 in MS-64, and $4350.00 in MS-65. Well worth grading, either PCGS or NGC. Lovely coin.

I'd go MS-60 at least. Would like to see it with different lighting. Welcome to CCF!

Hi Gentlemen and Ladies I like the idea that each of you have your opinion on grade range and whom to get graded. I find that this has been a wonderful experience, and greeted well. I have other coins that I will list, sell or even trade. Sincerely Bob

Hi Bob, Looked over this coin carefully and it appears to be a qualified MS62 or higher. I compared to some of the PCGS Auctions with a MS grading and this is definitely up there with some of the better ones pictured. If it has the luster (bonus) Love the highpoints both sides (key is the full head) and the toning has that nice patina (pastel hues) Looks to be the small stars (another plus) Also...you may want to do some more investigative work before sending to a grading company. The doubling on your coin is evident and I see possibly a struck thru on the reverse above the bow area. (very interesting) Variety is what I'm thinking here and the only 38 Half Dime that I've ever seen with the doubling like this. Could be a very early strike is what I'm Guessing? Hope this information is helpful...I'm new but this coin caught my eye...and made me register to post my thoughts. It's a beauty IMHO....Good Luck!
