2017 P Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Lincoln Shield Cent / LSC ? - Thoughts?

Unless this is shelf MD, which I have a hard time distinguishing from a doubled die, then I have no idea. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

SilverCents Pillar of the Community United States 3281 Posts	Posted 04/30/2020 12:53 pm I'm using a USB Microscope and it's been pretty decent so far. I've tried turning down the light source produced as well from the Microscope. What do you suggest I do? Report this Post to the Staff
John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 04/30/2020 1:53 pm Do what I did. Block off all but one bulb at the 12k position and put a filter on that one. I have also turned off all the on board lights and use a hand held LED flashlight. You can also just use a point-n-shoot digital camera. John1 Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/30/2020 4:56 pm Best to use only one light source for micro images. That way you have light and shadow. With two lights you confuse the issue. One light for micro images, you can use two light for full image shots. (But I only use one for either) Report this Post to the Staff
SilverCents Pillar of the Community United States 3281 Posts	Posted 04/30/2020 5:11 pm I am slightly still confused. I ended up turning off all my lamps and lights in my room. I then proceeded to close all my blinds so it was decently dark. The only light was coming from that microscope. Yet it still produced the same quality image. I don't really know what to do. Could I maybe have an example or a photo? Because I think I might be doing this wrong. Report this Post to the Staff
