i am considering getting a set of air tites for my presidents. never having seen and air tite, will the air tite leave the edge of the coin visible so that the in God we trust can be seen on the coin?

also, I heard that the air tites with the inner circle is better because it keeps the coin more snug and warm and cozy...well more snug anyway compared to the air tite without the inner circle. I just wanna make sure that that's true.

Of course there's no way to see the edge lettering if you use the inner ring, but the rings do seem to offer a more secure fit.

The direct fit Air-Tites (no inner ring) do allow some visibility for the edge of the coin. I haven't tried to read any lettering through them though. That would be tough.

I've switched many of my raw coins to Coin World "slabs" so I can put labels on them. They work great for me but I don't think they make an design for edge visibility yet.

the direct fit doesn't use the inner ring insert but I don't think you would be able to see any edge lettering through the plastic (just not made clear enough I don't think) the ones that use the inserts would definately cover the edge. I don't think there is anything available on the secondary market that would allow you to see the edge lettering of the coin. But as far as protection for the price the airtites are hard to beat

I just checked one of my Morgans in a direct fit Air-Tite and I can see the reeded edge pretty well. I was surprised.

I think edge lettering would show up well through the side of a direct fit. You may be in luck!
