I have two of these. One with a gold-ish tone to it I think? Are these any better than AU?

I'm not that great in grading from pics, but
The toned one is beautiful to look at, but shows a lot of wear in STATES (or weak die)...
The silver one looks like it could be BU but a little shy of MS

Wow I hadn't noticed the STATES "T" is practically missing.

Weakness shows on the other side in the same area as well. Wish I could see these in hand. Certainly they're no worse than AU-58.

Hope that's a typo.
By definition a BU coin must also be mintstate.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Strike is stronger on the second one. I'll take the eye appeal of the first any day. I'm going with MS63 on the first one, number of tick marks mostly on obverse. Second I would say is close but hard to tell through the darker toning. I too would like to see these in person, feel in hand they'd be a little more clear cut.

I think both will make MS-63. Nice coins.

Both appear cleaned though #2 seems to have suffered slightly more wear.
