A friend of mine found this and was wondering what it was exactly. After some research of my own, It looks to me to be a Spanish Token/Coin. More than likely a token, but I am not sure on that. I have been unable to find anything like it. The only markings are a "VB".

Does anyone have any ideas?

Oh, I am new here ... Hi all!

Welcome to the forum.

It's not a coin, but I'm not entirely sure what it is. It certainly looks like the Spanish coat of arms, even if the elements are drawn rather crudely.

It took me a while to find your "VB" - the letters are inside the crown. This indicates to me it's not an official use of the coat of arms. If I had to guess, I'd say a game counter, for draughts, checkers or some such.

Hmmmmm my first instinct was it looks like a checkers or draughts piece , but when have you ever seen checkers or draughts with metal pieces ?

Here is a similar one that I acquired decades ago, similar to Token Catalog # 578937.

Dearborn, I didn't know what it was until the Token Catalog listing was created in 2020.

For reference: the designs of both sides of this token are listed on the manufacturer's website, in their stock token design catalogue: https://vanbrooktokens.com/availabl...ndesigns.htm

Scroll down to the bottom of the "general purpose" tokens, and you'll see them. Designs #836 and #1521.
