Interestingly, Coincraft's 1998 Standard Catalogue of English and U.K. Coins 1066 to Date lists this variety, in terms of catalog value, G3SH-145 (I of HONI over S) as somewhat common. [value £20 in VF(=XF40), and £80 in Unc(=MS60)]. For the most common varieties, the values range from £14 in VF to £55 in Unc. It is possible to conclude that the I over S reverse variety die was used from new to worn out, and thus well over 100,000 coins were struck from it. Perhaps the values should be higher, because the difference from the even more common varieties is so obvious. Report this Post to the Staff

I checked the records at London Coin Auctions. In all their years of trading they have only ever seen two.
