I found this coin CRH and I have heard somewhere before about a black beauty while watching a CRH video on youtube. This coin is not painted it is actually black. Not saying it is valuable but it is a really cool coin and I am going to keep it. Just wondering if anyone else has seen a coin like this and how it gets like this? Thanks in advance, Chris!

Just for fun, I have heated new issue MS++ copper nickel coins on my kitchen stove to near red heat, and dropped them into cold water.
The result is exactly the same as you see here.
Rest in Peace

No , Black Beauty designations are only for Jefferson nickels . Mostly 1959-P that had improperly annealed planchets .

Here's an image of a "Black Beauty" Jefferson from 1959.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. It really does look cool though because it don't look damaged at all so I will keep it for a lucky coin or something. Thanks for all the valuable information!
