Hi there,

These are the information that I know about this piece,

18.7g,24mm,6mm thick.

on one side:

Fath Ali Shah (written)sitting on throne.

On the other side :
Mint of Mashad and names in circles are Mohammed,Ali,Fatima,Hassan,Hussain,Ali,Mohammed

It does not bear the word Fulus as these types of coins do.

Is it a coin or medal or what ?

It has the same obverse as this gold coin:

There might be a date under the name.

Hi There,

Thanks for the inputs,

I just check under the name there is a little bit disfigured date 1250,which is the last year of his rule.

It is a heavy one at 18.5g the only coins closed to this weight are :

A2886 AR 2 riyals (18.42g), type D RRR
Struck only for presentation.

U2893 AR 2 riyals (18.42g), type E, struck only at Mashhad
1246, mint & date on both sides, names of the
Twelve Imams in the reverse margin RRR

"Stephen Album, Checklist of Islamic Coins, 3rd edition, PAGE 293"

Still a puzzle piece

It is pretty close in size and weight to a falus https://en.numista.com/catalogue/in...at=y&ct=coin

I'm not an expert in Islamic coins but maybe it's a pattern? Or a bullion round?

Yes ,you are right there are some civic copper at that range of weight.

I checked my catalog "Bahrahm Alaedinin,Persian copper coins ,form Safavids to Qajars" ,but no similar coin or even close .

The only close one is the show one shown in your previous link of the gold coins.

It can be a pattern or a bullion round who knows

Thanks again for the help
