Hello,
I inherited a number of coins. In the box was a black casting of what looks like a coin. On one side if the head of a man and on the back side, the head of another man. The men look to be from an era long ago. The black casting material is very hard and rough. Has anyone ever seen something like this? It measures 2 1/2". Lima

to CCF. Most likely not a coin but a medal of some sort. Weight?

The first picture is of General Giuseppe Garibaldi and the second is Vittorio Emanuele III, the first king of Italy after the unification in 1861. Beyond that, I would think it was meant to be a memento of the Risorgimento, but more research would be needed.

It weighs 3.74 oz.
I will try and find pics of General Giuseppe Garibaldi and Vittorio Emanuele II to see if they look like this casting.

I do think Badger Mint is right. It looks like Giuseppe Garibaldi and Vittorio Emanuele II - but not III

@lima, is this piece metal or plastic? Perhaps post a weight?

Definitely not plastic.
Guessing metal, but can't tell.
Very hard, dense material. Rough textured surface.
Edges are jagged. See pictures.

Definitely Garibaldi and Victor Emmanuel II.

Looks kind of like an old lead seal? Interesting artifact.
