Hi, I have a 1958 Wheat penny BU and I was wondering what grade you think this coin would receive. Also, do you think it's worth sending in? Thanks in advance Edited by balakay123 05/15/2020 6:53 pm

I'm gonna say MS63RD. I remember finding a lot of really nice 1958 cents when I started in the hobby. A lot of people saved them, probably knowing the design was changing the next year. Keep it until you find one nicer, no need to have it graded.

I would only get this coin graded if you thought you could get MS-67. I don't see u getting that grade on this particular coin. Some slight rim knocks and other marking on obverse.

Surfaces are very nice, which carries a lot of weight with graders. Some chatter will hold it back. MS-64 RD.

Lots of hits and scrapes, especially on the shoulder - MS-63RD tops. Value less than fifty cents. to the CCF!

I'll agree with MS63, and the sentiment to not send it in. There are many, many high grade BU++ late 50s wheat cents which have been hoarded--with many of them having been slabbed.
