It is the narrow date - Freeman reverse H. The obverse is Freeman 8 - the combination makes the coin F80, rated as "N3" for scarcity, so fairly common.
Yes, this is the wider date type. There are actually two dies for 1875 with the wider date - die G is scarce, die J is common - N3 same as die H. I am fairly sure yours is die J as the sea does not extend to the border. Leaving aside proofs and rare errors, there are 4 main type combinations for 1875. One is the 1875H, with the H for Heaton mint beneath the date, and this is R5. The three for 1875 without H have now been discussed here - the die G reverse is R5, the dies H and J are N3.
This is the picture of the 1875 Penny. Its worn a lot but just wanted to be sure if this is the commom one. it'll go inside a bin of world coins to be sold somewhere next weekend.
