Hi guys,

Many years ago I traded that with a collector I personally know and trust. The metal and the weight seems to be righ. Yet I have no idea about Ecu coins.

Is there someone out there who can judge bu the photos and comment whether this is genuine or not?

Thank you

It looks genuine, although heavily cleaned, possibly polished. There should be a raised lettering on the edge: DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM - can't see if there is on the somewhat blurry edge photo, perhaps you can confirm (there should at least be some visible traces even if the coin is worn). The weight should be in the range 29.2-29.5 grams.

The letter L indicates that it is minted in Bayonne, which is one of the more common mints. Value in this condition maybe 20-30 €.

erafjel = Tack for the reply! Yes there seems to be a high amount of abrasive cleaning on the coin. Yet some details still look pretty to me. I do not collect that area, but it's still nice to have almost a 250 year old coin in my collection. Mintmark 'L' made me do some research and found out area around Bayonette seems like a great holiday destination!
