I do have to admit, the owner of this home did an exquisite job at making a floor out of pennies. The design is fabulous.

Looks a bit like an ancient Roman tiled floor, remnant examples of which can be found in Pompeii.

The coins would have been stuck down with epoxy resin.
It is absolutely essential that a lipid fat resistant resin formulation has been used. Lipid fats such as such as sodium palmate (found in common soap), are capable of slowly softening some formulations of epoxy resin.

A huge and on going floor cleaning maintenance regime will have to be followed.
